Why did you choose Hairdressing as your career?
I choose this industry for my career as I felt it was one that would allow me to explore my creativity. I also enjoy being around people and making them feel good. We hairstylists play such an important role in people’s lives and I enjoy the fact that I get to do that on a daily basis.
What aspect of Hairdressing is your ‘area of expertise’ and what do you enjoy most about it?
I love cutting, especially short hairstyles on both male and females. I especially enjoy transforming longer looks to shorter styles! I would say this is one of my areas of expertise.
What do you love about Hairdressing and what frustrates you the most?
PEOPLE!! I love the people we get to meet both as colleagues or guests, but they can be a source of frustration as well...😉
Who are your industry icons and why?
Paul Mitchell and John Paul DeJoria of course! Their impact on the industry is legendary. I really admire how they had a social and environmental consciousness from the start, some 40 years ago, which lead the way for others to follow.
What product can’t you live without and why?
My favourite product is always changing, but at the moment it’s Paul Mitchell The Conditioner and Hair Sculpting Lotion! I love the way The Conditioner moisturises my hair and Hair Sculpting Lotion gives me the versatility to wet or dry style my hair, curly or straight!
How do you challenge yourself?
I try and push myself into uncomfortable situations as they challenge me to learn and grow.
Why did you take the steps to become an Educator for 365 Salon Group?
I want to be able to share my passion and give back to an industry that has awarded me so much. If I can help inspire other hairstylists then I’m a happy man!
What are the most important things to your salon and the Hairdressing industry?
Being professional and being respected by people.
